Fall has quickly descended upon us. With October fast approaching, the weather will hopefully soon turn chilly, and many of us will be thinking of all of the wonderful fall flavors to indulge in. For those of you who are trying to eat healthy and/or lose weight either with GLP’1s or with bariatric surgery, this season may bring challenges. But, in this post, I am here to tell you that you can enjoy a flavor-filled fall without sacrificing your goals.
Here is a recipe roundup of some of my favorite tasty and healthy fall food ideas:
Main Proteins:
Lemon Rosemary Roasted Chicken
Bariatric-friendly Shepherd’s Pie
Vegetable sides:
Sauteed Carmelized onions and kale
Healthy Fall Pomegranate Salad – Substitute the honey for sugar free maple syrup to reduce added sugars
Good Carb Sides:
Air fried apples – for reduced added sugar, substitute sugar for splenda or sugar-free maple syrup
Roasted Butternut Squash – For a sweet Fall twist, coat in sugar-free maple syrup and cinnamon before roasting
Sweets:
Weight Watchers Greek Yogurt Cheesecake – Add a Fall twist by adding cinnamon and or pumpkin pie spice to the batter and drizzling with sugar free caramel
Bariatric-friendly apple crisp
Caramelized Cinnamon Stuffed Pears
Pumpkin Protein Cheesecake Cups
Pumpkin Protein Bites – Substitute the honey for sugar-free maple syrup. You can even put Lily’s sugar-free chocolate chips in place of regular ones.
I hope that some of these recipe ideas have piqued your interest and helped you look forward to eating healthy, nourishing fall foods. Until next time!
